Depot Day is always the Saturday before Mother's Day in May. Vendors on the lawn, cars on the streets, and lots of fun for everyone! The streets of Wallace are closed and filled with classic cars. Unique food booths and eclectic vendors fill the Depot Lawn. We hope you can come join the fun, look at the cars, and listen to some great music at the next Depot Day Celebration. 	Buggy Festival - 35th Annual Carthage, NC Show Dates: 5/11/2024 to 5/11/2024 www.thebuggyfestival.com 2024 Carthage Buggy Festival It is our most sincere hope that we will be able to hold the 2024 Carthage Buggy Festival, as scheduled on May 11, 2024. The Carthage Board of Commissioners would like for the Committee and Staff to start scheduling and planning the event, but of course, there is always a possibility that the festival will have to be cancelled, depending on the status of the Coronavirus pandemic. At this time, we are excited to invite vendors of all types to participate. There will be different guidelines and possibly even a different layout, to allow for better distancing and safety. We are asking vendors to wait and send payment around April 15th; in the event that we have to cancel, refunds may not be required. While we are all in a hurry for things to �get back to normal,� we must consider the Governor�s Executive Orders and we ask that everyone please wear your face masks, wash your hands often, use hand sanitizer and also stand at least six feet from others. All of our new applications are posted. We are asking for vendors, as well as sponsors to contact the Carthage Buggy Festival coordinators (Dorrie and Kim) at (910) 947-2331, if you have any questions. 	Cocoa Village Summer Art & Craft Show - 33rd Cocoa, FL - Cocoa Village Show Dates: 5/11/2024 to 5/12/2024 www.VisitCocoaVillage.com The Historic Cocoa Village Association (HCVA) presents four Art & Craft Fairs throughout the calendar year, with the oldest and largest of these, the Fall Art & Craft Fair, being held every year since 1981. The Art & Craft Fairs are held on the streets of Cocoa Village which remain closed for the weekend-long occasions. The Fairs feature a wide variety of handmade or hand altered products presented by some 175 to 225 Exhibitors and each event has a unique identity. The Spring Fine Art & Craft Fair focuses on fine art, offering over $6000.00 in cash and awards and includes a Saturday evening Art Exhibit in the Cocoa Civic Center featuring all entries and highlighting the winning entries. 	Mayfaire By-The-Lake - 52nd Annual Lakeland, FL - Shore of Lake Morton Show Dates: 5/11/2024 to 5/12/2024 www.mayfairebythelake.org Mayfaire by-the-Lake is a juried, fine arts festival held on the shores of Lake Morton in downtown Lakeland, Florida. This two-day, free community festival, traditionally held on Mother's Day weekend, is a premier fine arts festival in Florida. Attendance is approximately 15,000 and award money is $17,000. We are celebrating our 51st year and have been voted as one of the Best Fine Art Festivals on the Sunshine Artist 200 List in 2022. Mayfaire By-The-Lake - 43rd Annual Lakeland, FL Polk Museum of Art May 10 & 11, 2014 Review by Inna Schoeler This was my first year of participating in the Mayfaire show. I've done a lot of other events in and around Lakeland in the past, so I had a good following of customers so I thought this would be a good fit for me. As you know, the temperatures really begin to climb in Florida once May begins, so for many artists this is the final show in the south before beginning the events in the northern states or just taking the summer off to work on re-supplying for when the fall season begins again. That being said... there is one word that generally describes the show... HOT! Yes, it is almost always very hot and this year was no exception. So if you choose to participate make sure to dress appropriately and bring plenty to drink so as not to become dehydrated during the show. If you must set up the morning of the show rather than the day before, you may want to bring a change of clothing... one for setting up and one for actually doing the show. Even the morning can bring on the beads of perspiration by the time you set everything up. Although you can set up the morning of the show, the best situation to set up is to come the day before rather than the morning of the event. Everything is very organized, the staff is exceptionally polite and very helpful. You can pull your car right up to your booth and unload... there is no rush. In fact, set up couldn’t be easier. As I mentioned in the beginning of this review, this was my first year doing the show. When I set up I knew that I was near the end of the show... but when I arrived on Saturday morning I discovered that I WAS the end of the show! Although I did well enough to apply again this coming year, I would suggest requesting a space somewhere closer to the middle of the show. Where I was I felt that some sales were left on the table because people were either just coming to the show or just leaving. Those coming wanted to see what else there was... those leaving had already spent their money. Of course one of those end spaces is perfect if you have heavy items like pottery or large sculptures because customers can pull right up to load your work into their vehicles. In any case my sales were still decent as I always make the best of the space I an assigned and I do everything I can to turn it into an advantage! I do however look forward to trying one of the spaces a little more centered in the show so I can compare. It seemed to me the people there did better in sales. I was somewhat afraid that the heat of the day would keep the crowds away, but that was absolutely not the case. There were good crowds and good buyers throughout both days of the event. Although my sales weren’t the best I ever did, they were definitely decent. The sponsors did a lot of advertising throughout the community and it really showed with the turnout. They run a really nice show with good prize money and excellent jurying of the work. Everywhere you looked you saw quality exhibitors with virtually no mediocre participants. Although it definitely is hot... you probably won’t want to pass up this show. It will be just about the last chance you’ll have to sell in Florida before the fall season comes around again.
	Chastain Park Spring Arts & Crafts Festival - 16th Annual Atlanta, GA - Chastain Park Show Dates: 5/11/2024 to 5/12/2024 chastainparkartsfestival.com/ The Chastain Spring Arts and Craft Festival is held in the North Buckhead neighborhood, which is considered to be one of the wealthiest zip codes in north Georgia and home to one of the largest and most enthusiastic art buying communities in metro Atlanta. The Chastain Spring Arts and Crafts Festival has become and continues to be one of the premier events in the area. The Chastain Park Spring Arts and Crafts Festival is a two-day outdoor event with an emphasis on the visual arts and family fun, located in the largest public park in Fulton County. The Chastain Spring Arts and Crafts Festival is organized by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces, LLC, which also sponsors the fall fine arts Chastain Park Arts Festival as well as a board of experts in various artistic disciplines. The festival will uphold the highest standards of supporting the arts, and r participating artists in the environment to nurture an appreciation for their skills.
