This 2-day fair draws large crowds, and features a booth arrangement that provides half of the vendors with 2 adjoining sides open to traffic if they choose. The Fair, ongoing since 1983, has international food, children's rides, 4 live stages, and the craft brewery beer garden guarantees fun for the whole family. In Mid-October, the market moves inside the Velvet Mill in the back room closest to Meadow Avenue. The Stonington Farmers� Market began in 1997 under the initiative of Geoffrey Little. The enormously popular market attracts residents from the Borough and surrounding communities who come to buy fresh, healthy, local food. In 2008 the Stonington Farmers� Market became a year-round event, moving inside during the winter months. 	Apopka Art & Foliage Festival - 62nd Annual Apopka, FL - Kit Land Nelson Park Show Dates: 4/27/2024 to 4/28/2024 www.apopkaartandfoliagefestival.org/ School art, foliage sales, entertainment, & more Apopka Art & Foliage Festival - 52nd Annual Apopka, FL April 27 & 28, 2013 GFWC Apopka Woman's Club It's hard to believe that this is the 52nd Annual art festival in Apopka... it seems not that long ago I was designing an ad for the 30th Annual event. The Apopka Art & Foliage Festival was actually one of our first advertisers many years ago when were just a fledgling publication. It always brings back good memories every year when it's time to do the ad once more. And over the last 25 years of so I've actually visited or participated in the show at least a dozen times. I suppose this is one event I've seen enough times to make reasonable comparisons with previous years. The show has always been very consistent regardless of who was in charge and this year was no different. There is a core group of artists and craftsmen who participate each year who represent about half the show... exhibitors who I see at shows all over the south represent about another 25% and then brand new people account for the other 25% of exhibitors. Actually it's quite a nice mix. There is always something new to see each year and actually some of the new people are quite good. I really understand the reason for so many new people each year and it's a great place for them to get a start. Obviously it's a good show because if it weren't you wouldn't have that 50% of core people returning each year. And no matter what someone else would tell you, if you've got a 50% return rate then that's pretty darn good! But beyond that, the price for the show is reasonable at $140.00 and you don't have to hassle with some complicated online jurying process that many new people haven't yet set up. Located just outside of Orlando in an area known for it’s nurseries and fertile soil, it’s just about the perfect place in Florida to have a Foliage Festival. In fact, you’d be surprised how much of what you see at other Foliage Festivals actually comes from the Apopka area. The other nice thing about the Apopka area is that it’s constantly growing. It's location constantly gets spill over from Orlando and in recent years development in the area has brought quite a bit of affluence that was lacking 20 years ago. The people who jury the show do a nice job of selecting a wide variety of work. There is never too much of any one thing and placement within the show is just about perfect. You rarely see once exhibitor in direct competition with another. The traffic flow is well done too. Art has once section of the event and crafts are located in another... but they are seamlessly tied together so each section benefits for the traffic of the other. And both artists as well as craftsmen generally reported decent sales. Although the weather was a bit threatening at times throughout the weekend there were no meteorological disasters and in the end most exhibitors seemed very satisfied with the show and with the sales. This is one of those events that doesn't usually get a "high profile" review, but does deliver a nice show. The price is reasonable, the jury fee is affordable an the selection process as well as show placement is good. Load in and tear down are relatively easy and since the park is located in a nice residential area security is no particular problem. Overall I'd say give this one some thought for your schedule next year... it's definitely worth the consideration!
	Melbourne Art Festival - 39th Annual Melbourne, FL - Wickham Park Show Dates: 4/27/2024 to 4/28/2024 www.melbournearts.org The Melbourne Art Festival is a fully Volunteer staffed, nationally recognized event, held each year on the last full weekend of April at Wickham Park in Melbourne, Florida. Melbourne Art Festival offers FREE admission, FREE parking, FREE children�s art projects and FREE live entertainment throughout the weekend _____________________________________________________________ Melbourne Art Festival Melbourne, FL Melbourne Art Festival Committee April 26 & 27, 2014 Of all the shows I participated in this season throughout Florida, this show probably had just about the highest quality of art work I’ve seen. The judging for this event is just excellent and they pick just about the perfect work for the crowd that attends. You’ll see not only a high quality of everything... but a variety of work that would make many other shows envious. If you’ve never done the show before you’ll definitely want to arrive early and make sure to set up on Friday. This was my first time in the show and although it’s very well organized... we had to do quite a bit of driving around to find out spot and to then find some place to park so we could unload and set up. Some places were very congested and this part of the show presented a real challenge. If I participate next year I’ll certainly know what to expect, but for those of you new to the event just make sure to be patient and allow extra time. I suppose you could set up on Saturday morning, but if there is any way to do Friday I would absolutely suggest doing it then! On the day of the show don’t be late. This is an early crowd and by 8:30am there were a lot of people already walking about and buying. The numbers in the book say 50,000 in attendance and while at many shows you could probably divide this number by ten and have a closer estimate... this show really does get a very large crowd of people. And that traffic flow was steady throughout the entire two days of the show. Lots and lots of those people were carrying purchases of all kinds and of course that is the best sign there is or a good show. Personally I had great sales at the show and all the people around me seemed to do just as well. The people beside me who have done the show for years had an excellent show too. It seems as though there is a very good rate of return for exhibitors as many of them I talked to had been participating for several years. For them sales have remained consistent and with the large crowds there is always someone new looking at the work you produce! Those people who have participated many times tell me there are lots of repeat sales from customers who collect their art. Everyone was treated very well by the staff presenting the show. Hospitality included not only all the early morning amenities like coffee, etc... but also a nice dinner for the artists too after the show on Saturday night. Volunteers were very helpful, the promotion and advertising was obviously very good judging by the turnout of the large crowd, sales were great for just about everyone and overall this was a very, very nice festival. I’m definitely planning on returning next year if I jury in again! ---------------------------------------- April 23 and 24, 2016 marks the 32nd year of this juried Fine Art/Fine Craft Festival, showcasing the work of 250 talented artists. Our awards total $30,000 distributed among the two categories, 2-D and 3-D, and Best of Show. Our patron purchase program has been copied by many other Florida shows. The Melbourne Art Festival is consistently ranked among the top shows in the nation by “Sunshine Artist” magazine. Melbourne is located on Florida’s East Coast just one hour east of Orlando and one hour south of Kennedy Space Center. General Information Organized and presented by an all-volunteer committee, the Melbourne Art Festival features a juried art show, continuous live entertainment, a 5K run, Kidsworld, and a student art venue. Saturday night features a free concert. SPECIFICS It is the responsibility of the artist to read and understand the following information. DATE: April 23 and 24, 2016 HOURS: Exhibition hours are 9:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday CATEGORIES: 2-D Artwork and 3-D artwork AWARDS: A total of $30,000 will be awarded. Best of Show $3,000 10-Awards of Excellence (5 in each category) $1250 10-Awards of Distinction (5 in each category) $850 10-Awards of Merit (5 in each category) $600 JUDGING: Judges begin their rounds at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Juding will be held in two phases, your body of work and individual pieces (see Rules/Regulation section below). Award winners will be announced Sunday morning. Cash awards will be distributed on Sunday afternoon. PATRON PROGRAM: Our highly successful Patron Purchase Program is strongly supported by the Brevard County Community. SITE FACTS VENUE: Outdoors Exhibitors must provide their own means of display that must be sufficiently sturdy to withstand outdoor elements. The artist is responsible for the cleanliness, safety, and security of their display. Applications must be submitted through the ZAPPlication website on or before January 31, 2016. 2. Late postings will not be accepted. 3. Notification to artists regarding acceptance, non-acceptance, and reserve status will be posted on the Zapp website on or before February 15, 2016. 4. No notification by telephone will be given. 5. All decisions of the jury are final. APPLICATION FEE: $37.00 per application (nonrefundable) 1. A nonrefundable application fee of $37.00 must accompany each submitted application. 2. Do not send an exhibition fee. 3. If an artist wishes to apply in more than one category, separate applications must be made. 4. Each application must include the application fee and four (4) images. IMAGES: 1. Each application must include three (3) images, which accurately represent the work you intend to exhibit, AND one (1) image of your booth display which shows overall presentation of the work intended for exhibition. 2. Artists are juried solely by the quality and clarity of the images submitted. Deficiencies in the quality of your images can negatively impact acceptance into the show. 3. Artists doing both one-of-a-kind and production work must submit images of each kind of work in the same proportion to be exhibited at the festival. 2015 AWARD WINNERS: A completed application is required. 1. Award winners from the 2015 Melbourne Art Festival are automatically accepted for the 2016 show. 2. Award winners must still complete the application process and submit your images. 3. Do not submit the application fee. Your application fee is waived and you will receive an email from us, at the address you provided last year, with instructions for completing the application process on the Zapp website. 4. After the jury process, you will be notified on the Zapp website as having been accepted. You are then required to submit the exhibition fee. NOTIFICATION: Notification of ‘artist status’ will be posted on the Zapp website on or before February 15, 2016. If accepted, you may then pay the exhibition fee. By paying the exhibition fee, you agree to abide by the policies of The Melbourne Art Festival. CONTACT INFORMATION: 1. The Committee will use the contact information provided by the artist on their Zapplication. 2. Artists are responsible for providing accurate information and updating any changes that may occur after submitting their application. 3. Changes should be sent to the Melbourne Art Festival website (mafinfo@melbournearts.org). FLORIDA SALES TAX: Each artist is responsible for the collection of 6.5% Florida State Sales Tax on all sales made during the festival, and for remittance to the State of Florida Department of Revenue. Rules/Regulations ARTIST ELIGIBILITY: 1. Artists must exhibit and be present throughout the two days of the show. Failure to comply with this rule may result in ineligibility for awards and admission to future shows. 2. Only artists displaying their own original work may participate. No partners, stand-ins or proxy exhibitors will be allowed to represent the artist. 3. A driver’s license and/or additional photo identification will be required at check-in and may be checked at any time during the weekend. DUAL ENTRY: 1. Artists working together may apply as a team if they collaborate on every piece. A partner is not considered a displaying artist. 2. The names of both artists must be on the application as artists (not partners), and a description of the team involvement with the art produced must be provided. 3. If accepted, both artists must attend the show and may exhibit only pieces produced by that collaboration. ORIGINAL WORKS: 1. All work exhibited must be original 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional artwork produced by the juried artist and must have been represented in the slides submitted for jury. 2. Viewing bins containing reproductions must be clearly marked and identified as containing commercial reproductions. The bins must not detract from the overall appearance of the booth. 3. All Editions should be limited. 4. Photographic work must meet archival standards. 5. Not more than 10% of the artwork displayed on the walls of the display booth may be reproductions and must be clearly marked as such. 6. No commercially made products, ceramics made from commercial molds, commercially cut wood products, kit objects, decoupage, beadwork, shells or mass-produced items may be exhibited. 7. No 'buy-sell' items are allowed. 8. All work must be labeled either for sale with the price indicated or marked “Not for Sale”. 9. The committee reserves the right to remove any display, or parts of a display, which, in its opinion, does not conform to the artist’s work as represented by their juried images. 10. The committee reserves the right to remove any artist who, in its opinion, does not conform to the rules and regulations of the Melbourne Art Festival. Judging of Artistic Works 1. The judges will determine the merits of your 'Body of Work'. 2. The selected artists will choose a piece from the body of work displayed at the time of judging. 3. The artist will deliver that piece to the judging area. 4. Judges will determine awards based on those pieces, selected by the artist, representing the body of work displayed during the initial phase of judging. Booth Information DISPLAY: 1. Each display space is approximately 10 feet in front by 10 feet on the sides. A 3 ft. area is provided at the back of the space for storage. We do not provide double spaces. 2. Work must be contained within the assigned space unless otherwise approved by the committee. 3. Only one artist permitted per space, unless a two-person team qualifies as a dual entry, in which case both artists must be present for the duration of the show. Both must be listed as artists on the application, not partners. 4. Failure to adhere to the designated space boundaries may result in the artist(s) being required to reset their display. SPACE REQUESTS: Requests for specific locations made on the application are honored whenever possible. Requests by 2015 award winners, returning artists, artwork shop presenters, balance of media, special needs of some exhibitors, timely fee payments, and maintaining the good appearance of the show are the major considerations in space assignments. EXHIBITION FEE: $266.25 1. The exhibition fee of $266.25 ($250.00 + $16.25 (6.5% Florida State Sales Tax) must be received on or before March 15, 2016. 2. All payments made by check are deposited upon receipt. Make checks payable to Melbourne Art Festival and mail to: P.O. Box 611, Melbourne FL, 32902 3. Any check returned for insufficient funds is subject to a $50.00 processing fee. 4. The Committee will assume that any accepted artist not paying the exhibition fee on or before March 15,2016 will not be exhibiting in the 2016 Melbourne Art Festival and no booth space will be reserved for that artist. By paying the exhibition fee you have made a commitment to show and no refunds will be made for cancellation, nonappearance, or rainout. Accepted artists unable to attend must inform the Committee.

The festival takes place along charming brick streets lined with specialty shops, cafe's, pubs and restaurants. We offer over $15,000 in award money. RULES/REGULATIONS All entries will be juried. Entrants are required to submit three photos of artwork and one of OUTDOOR Booth that is COMPLETELY SETUP. Apply online (click here). All artwork submitted for jurying must be current and represent the entire body of work to be shown at the SJRFA. Your selected medium must be consistent throughout your booth. The art festival committee checks booths throughout the festival weekend for any non-allowed art. If any manufactured/buy-sell is found artist will be asked to exit the festival. Booth space on First Street can not be guaranteed for applications received later than February 1st, 2021. Once invited, Payment must be received to reserve your space. All entrants will be notified of their acceptance or non-acceptance within 3 weeks of receipt of application through ZAPP. Artists must check their Zapp account to see status of acceptance. Artists who submit via USPS will receive email notification of their acceptance/non-acceptance. No refunds will be made due to cancellation by the Artist once invitation is accepted. No art supplies, picture frames, commercial photography, kits, commercial patterns or works cast in commercial molds, mass produced items, or buy/resell will be accepted or displayed. ABSOLUTELY NO BUY/SELL/MANUFACTURED ITEMS WILL BE ALLOWED. Exhibit spaces measure approximately 12� x 12� (canopy space is 10X10) and the Artist is responsible for their own WHITE, commercial grade, standard Artist tent, or other approved structure that is in good, clean, safe condition. NOTE: Strong storms are always a possibility with outdoor events. To limit potential damage to other artists, neighboring businesses and attendees, all artists are required to have NO LESS than 50lb. weight PER LEG for their artist tent. Artist must stay set up within the allocated space. No tarps are permitted beyond the booth area. Electricity and water will not be provided unless special arrangements are made. NO GENERATORS allowed. No stakes in the tarmac please! Easy drive-up registration. All entrants must check in at registration prior to setting up their booth to obtain a booth card, "hold harmless" signature and packet. PLEASE, THIS IS MANDATORY FOR ENTRY. A booth identification card must always be attached to the upper left front corner of the booth during the show. Space is defined as space only. Booth set-up time will be allowed on Friday before the Festival from 3:00 pm until 8 pm or Saturday morning from 7am-9am. This will be the only time Artists will be allowed to drive to their booth spaces to unload. To avoid gridlock during setup, drive to your booth space, park allowing space for vehicles to pass, unload, then park vehicle BEFORE setting up. Artist parking is located on the NORTH side (towards lake) of First Street. There are many parking areas on Commercial Street on north side of First Street. Breakdown - artists will be allowed to drive to their booth space on Sunday at 5:30 pm after they have broken down their tents to load their art and displays. You must enter one-way from the registration booth site heading east. 24-hour security will be provided by Sanford Police Department from Friday to Sunday at 5 pm. Without exception: Artist�s vehicles will NOT be allowed on-site for the duration of the Festival after 9am on Saturday. All artwork must be set up by 9:30 am on Saturday and 9:30 am on Sunday. Artists who are not set up accordingly will forfeit their space to alternate Artists. Awards will be announced on Saturday around 4 pm. Artist checks will be available Sunday at the artist VIP room. Any Artist closing or breaking down before 5 pm Sunday will be disqualified from future Festivals and will relinquish all rights to any prize money they may have won. The Artist must be present. No stand-in exhibitors, dealers, agents, or wholesalers. The Festival committee reserves the right to ask any Artist for identification. There will be only one Artist permitted to exhibit in a booth. All work must be attributed solely to the exhibiting artist. All work must be for sale or available for commission. NO DISPLAYS CONTAINING MANUFACTURED � BUY/RESELL ITEMS are allowed. Displays will be viewed by the Festival committee at intervals throughout the Festival. The committee shall have the sole discretion to require the removal of artwork which violates Festival rules. Artists violating any Festival rule must remove their exhibit immediately. No fees will be refunded to the Artist. Collection of the 6% Florida sales tax on all sales is the responsibility of each Artist. No pets allowed.
