Cedar Key Celebrates the 51st Annual Old Florida Celebration of the Arts

Looking for a small, high quality juried fine arts event whose focus is on you, the artist? Consider the Old Florida Celebration of the Arts – March 28 & 29, 2015
Cedar Key, a picturesque island community in the center of Florida’s Nature Coast two hours north of Tampa, has been hosting a Spring Arts Festival since 1964. After returning to a juried fine arts venue in 2006, the festival’s reputation in the Southeast grew and attendance exceeded 20,000 in 2011 (just about right for a town of 850 residents). As artist interest in the event increased, the number of exhibitors was allowed to grow to over 160 in 2013, which turned out to be too many for the space and audience size. Listening to artist feedback, organizers returned to a smaller venue of 120 fine artists and craftsman in 2014 allowing more room for artists and art enthusiasts to engage, space for art demonstrations and a more welcoming/relaxed environment. In addition, advertising was expanded and efforts were made to target art-buying patrons. Artist feedback in 2014 was very positive with 80% of artists extremely or moderately satisfied and many looking forward to returning.
