On May 6 & 7, historic downtown Sanford, FL. will be transformed into an artist mecca for the sixth annual St. John's River Festival of the Arts - A Fine Arts & Fine Crafts event! Stroll historic brick streets filled with art work from some of the best artists across the country. See Art-in-Action from live artist demonstrations. Create your own piece of artwork at workshops scheduled during the weekend. Enjoy gourmet tastes at our Culinary Arts Court while you listen to the sounds of acoustic performers. Aligned with our theme of Art-in-Action, we will have talented chalk artists adding more color to the streets of Sanford. St. Johns River Festival of the Arts invites local chalk artists, students and groups to participate. A total of $750 of prizes will be given to the best chalk artwork. The St. Johns River Festival of the Arts will draw people to Historic Downtown Sanford to enjoy art and to celebrate the local arts community.

ALL children are invited to attend regardless of ability to pay! Through the generous support of our sponsors and funds raised during  the annual St. Johns River Festival of the Arts fine art festival (first weekend in May) the Board of Directors has implemented a graduated tuition scholarship program for children living in Seminole County. Johns River Festival of the Arts board of directors feels strongly that the arts impact our lives in dramatic fashion and is the perfect way to explore new horizons, stimulate imagination, creativity and also develop self-esteem and interpersonal skills. Art classes will be taught to different age groups in a variety of mediums with guidance from professional artists.
