Organized by Austin Area Arts (a local 501(c)3 nonprofit), the ArtWorks Festival is designed to offer a broad selection of experiences in the arts—visual, performing, literary and more—in one celebratory weekend. We also strive to make our festival interactive by including family activities and demonstrations (e.g. glassblowing, wheel throwing, metalwork). The festival is a staple of summer entertainment in the area, receiving rave reviews by local publications, thousands of visitors and community leaders.

Dating back to the event’s conception in 1977, this juried craft show celebrates the "Lazy Daze" of summer, taking place the last weekend of August, and bringing together 250 artists from 16 states across the U.S. Featuring a beer garden, numerous interactive art activities, a kid’s world area, and demonstrations from professional craftsmen, Lazy Daze remains a top-rated contemporary crafts festival among the nation. Nearly 60,000 art lovers old and new gather to Town Hall Campus every year to witness the announcing of the Jerry Miller Award Winners- our best in show artists. The Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival aims to enrich the community, enhance Cary’s identity, and foster community pride by celebrating the excellence in the visual and performing arts. Proceeds are used to produce the annual arts festival and are distributed back to local non-profit arts organizations as part of the Lazy Daze Grant Program. This Festival is the single largest event in Cary and is offered free of charge to all who attend.

	Great American Banana Split Celebration Latrobe, PA - Downtown Show Dates: 8/23/2025 to 8/24/2025 www.bananasplitfest.com Over 115 years ago in the Western PA town of Latrobe, David Strickler, a pharmacy apprentice, created what may be the most famous sundae of all time — the banana split! Latrobe has had an annual celebration since 2013 when the Pennsylvania Historical Society unveiled a marker at the former site of Tassel's Pharmacy where Sticker was working at the time of his invention.
