	Downtown Sarasota Craft Festival Sarasota, FL - Main St Show Dates: 3/14/2026 to 3/15/2026 www.artfestival.com American Craft Endeavors produces multiple shows therefore we have an ongoing jury process that meets twice monthly and juries by category. SHOW DIRECTOR’S SUGGESTION: We recommend that you apply EARLY as the show and/or most categories will fill quickly. Upon receiving an invitation to participate in the show, you will need to submit a deposit/booth fee immediately to secure your space in the show. Simply ACCEPTING on Zapp will not secure your space in the show. Please note that your invitation email may go to your SPAM folder, so it is in your best interest to check your status on Zapp or check your SPAM folder. Due to the deadline being so close to the show date, the show will most likely be closed prior to the deadline. PLEASE NOTE that we keep a WAIT LIST on a category basis.

The festival will be set up in the same location as the February Art Festival known as "THE BIG ONE." Covering more than five city blocks in Downtown Sarasota, artists and crafters will line Main Street from Orange Avenue and to Links Avenue. The overwhelming success of the February Festival each year led to the decision of adding another date in this location. The festival will also feature a craft/green market area. Artists and artisans showcase a wide variety of works and mediums inside of Tom Varn Park -- a natural setting surrounded by beautiful oak trees in Brooksville, Florida. This will be our 37th annual show bringing in a diverse crowd of 6,000 attendees from Hernando County and our neighboring communities for a celebration of artistry in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. ------------------------------------------------------ Art in the Park Brooksville, FL - Tom Varn Park March 10 & 11, 2018 Sponsored by: Hernando County Fine Arts Council I've been to this show several times over the last twenty years or so... and I've followed it from the time it used to take place in Masaryktown until the present show just this last year. If you've been a part of our organization for any length of time you've seen display ads and chances are you've gotten an email or two as well. I've reviewed the show a couple times before in the book and you may have read those reviews too. Although this event has never been a huge show like Mt. Dora in the fall or something like the big Delray Beach show in the spring... it is none the less a very consistent performer and exhibitors continue to tell me good things about the event year after year. Luckily the weather this year couldn't have been more perfect. The sun was shining, the temperature was perfect and the gentle breeze flowing through the park kept everyone comfortable all day long. But even when I've attended the event in lousy weather... I've still gotten decent reports from the people participating. This isn't an event where you'll want to consider taking a four week vacation on the money you've made, but dollar for dollar it always seems to be a good value for those who choose to take part in the show. The show is about 50% fine art and about 50% crafts so no matter what you make or create, there is probably a spot for you in the show. Although most shows will tell you that they expect everything to be made by the exhibitor and then you go there only to find several people who obviously don't make a thing... this show sticks by it's guns and I know in the time I spent there I didn't see anything that appeared to be buy/ sell. I personally know some of the people who are responsible for the selection of work and I'm sure that this situation is a result of their diligent efforts to keep the show a very good event. Attendance is always good... even in the rain (I've seen that a couple of times over the years). By good, I mean a steady flow of traffic on both days of the show. I was only there on Sunday afternoon this year, but exhibitors I talked to assured me that the "steady traffic" statement was accurate. And purchasing was steady too. I always watch to see what is leaving the event or what they are carrying around. Here there seems to be just as much of a mix as the work that was being sold. You'll see a nice original painting headed for a car and then the next minute you'll see an attractive piece of jewelry being sold... then five minutes later it's obvious that a wood worker has sold a piece of scroll work. All around no matter what you create this is an event you may want to consider. It's usually on a weekend that isn't particularly competitive with tons of shows going on in the area... and although I don't believe sales would merit driving 500 miles to participate, anyone in the central Florida area would be a good candidate for the show. With a hospitable staff, easy load in and load out, a nice location and reasonable sales for the cost of the entry fee you won't go wrong with Art in the Park.

The festival takes place at Craig Park on Spring Bayou, a picturesque waterfront park shaded by oak trees, located in the heart of Tarpon Springs. In 2018, USA Today recognized the city as the Best Historic Small Town. Each year, approximately 18,000 dedicated visitors come to the show. Tarpon Springs is situated at the northern tip of Florida's most densely populated county, easily accessible from the entire Tampa Bay region. The area exudes an old Florida charm, featuring brick streets, beautifully restored Victorian homes, and cozy bungalows surrounding the festival site. But because of the long drive, the short season (May through October) and the fact that it was only open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, many people were unable to attend. And so...that November in 1992 started what is today 15 to 20 Shipshewana On the Road shows a year held in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio where the vendors come to your community. In 2012 their son, Greg Fountain, decided to leave the corporate world and join the family business.

	Wild Chicken Festival - 27th Annual Fitzgerald, GA - Downtown Show Dates: 3/20/2026 to 3/21/2026 www.wildchickenfestival.com *Please note Food Vendors must have prices conspicuously displayed* Back in the 1960's, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources stocked Burmese chickens all over the state as an additional game bird to be hunted like pheasant or quail. These tiny, colorful birds resemble fighting game chickens, sporting brilliant orange and yellow ruffs and gleaming black tail feathers. Flocks of chicks were released several miles from Fitzgerald at the Ocmulgee River. Populations of the bird never took hold in other areas of the state, but for some reason, they left the river site and made their way to downtown Fitzgerald, where they have propagated and prospered ever since! Exotic and beautiful, Burmese chickens are also more athletic than your average chicken. According to one poultry resource, if caught in a fight, Burmese chickens move around and think out their moves, while other breeds move straight into the fray. Fitzgerald residents have a love/hate relationship with these wild birds. Some folks buy seed and feed them regularly; others chase them out of their yards and gardens with a broom and a few choice words. Whether loved or hated, Burmese chickens are a familiar part of the Fitzgerald scene. They wake you up in the morning, create minor traffic problems, and, some claim, even keep the bugs away. An annual festival celebrates these unique residents: The Wild Chicken Festival, held in the downtown historic district of Fitzgerald.
